Welcome

By this website the governing board of the 'Flemish Breeders of the Belgian Draft Horse' wants to provide you on regular basis about their association.
The junction of the Belgian policy of agriculture with the transfer of the authoroties to the different regions has conducted that a separate association was founded for the regions Flanders (VFBT) and Wallonia (EWCTB). The regional associations are responsible for the studbook in their region under the control of the regional ministry. The Royal society of the Belgian Draft Horse (KMBT) continue to exist as a mother studbook and covers the working of the VFBT and EWCTB.
The VFBT is ruled by delegates from the 5 provincial associations and coordinates and supports the functioning of these organisations.
The VFBT has put itself as an aim to involve the members actively at the policy and for this reason 4 commissions were created (Public Relations, Technical, Jury-training and Redaction commission) to assist the daily governing board by formulating proposals and recommendations. Further information on the structure, the statutes and the commissions can be founded under the heading association.
Our Belgian Draft Horse is beside work- and contest-horse also more and more used as a recreation horse and in the part on events you will also be altituded on other events with drafthorses such as drive- and dressage-contests.
The VFBT also wants to develop the international contacts and chose for a complete English-speaking version of this site, to show our Belgian drafthorse worldwide as a unique living heritage.
